Chiller is not filtering the water/keeping the water cleanUpdated 2 months ago

Thanks for reaching out! Here’s a complete and clear guide to keep your cold plunge clean — designed for both one-time deep cleaning and ongoing maintenance to keep the water crystal clear and safe.

💡 Pro Tip:

We just launched our Dual Filtration Kit as the ultimate way to keep your cold plunge clean 24/7. It's an additional 20-micron filter that attaches to the 'water in' hose and connected to the 'water in' valve on the tub. The hose screws directly into the filter and a small adapter that we'll include connects the filter to the valve on the tub. If you'd like this elite level of filtration, we'd be happy to send you an invoice with a discount applied as a courtesy.

Step 1: Turn Off Power
  • Shut off the pump, chiller, and filter system.
  • Unplug everything to avoid any elect

Step 2: Drain the Water
  • Use the built-in drain valve if your unit has one.
  • Or use a submersible pump or wet/dry vacuum to quickly remove the water.

Step 3: Scrub All Interior Surfaces
  • Use a non-abrasive sponge or microfiber cloth.
  • Cleaning solution options:
  • White vinegar + water (1:3 ratio)
  • Or gentle dish soap + warm water
  • Focus on:
  • The waterline ring
  • Bottom surface
  • Corners and seams
  • Rinse thoroughly to remove any residue.

Avoid: Bleach, harsh chemicals, or abrasive scrubbers — they can damage the finish or your skin.

For Ongoing Maintenance (reduces the frequency of deep cleaning)

Step 1: Clean or Replace the Filter
  •  Unscrew the white plastic housing on the side of the chiller and rinse the mesh thoroughly with a hose.
  •  For a deeper clean, soak it in filter cleaner solution for 30 minutes.
  •  Replace it every 1–3 months or if it looks discolored or worn.  We would be happy to send you a replacement filter at a discounted price if you'd like.

Step 2: Add Water Treatment
Utilize any of:
  •  Food-grade hydrogen peroxide (3%) - Add 1 oz per 100 gallons every 3–4 days.
  •  Non-chlorine spa oxidizer or mineral sanitizer.
  • USP-grade epsom salt (1/2 cup per full tub)

Step 3: Add an additional layer of filtration
  • We can send you a second filter and housing to your setup, replacing the 'in' valve on your tub and add another layer of filtration
