Chiller is leakingUpdated 2 months ago

We’ve successfully fixed 99% of all instances of leaking, and our process works nearly all of the time when followed correctly. Here’s how we can resolve this quickly and effectively:

Steps to Stop the Leak

  1. Check Valve Position – Please ensure that the pump is either turned on or the valves on the tub are fully closed. If the valves remain open while the pump is off, water will continue to flow and may cause leaks. This is a simple but crucial step to prevent further water loss.

2. Apply Teflon Tape – Here is a link to show you the ideal way to apply the teflon tape:

We recommend applying an extra 3-4 layers of Teflon tape included in your order to the leaking connection. Make sure the tape is wrapped tightly and evenly in the direction of the threading to create a strong seal.

IF you would rather the foolproof approach, while less 'aesthetic,' you can just take the teflon tape and wrap it 15-20 times around the outside of the connection where the leak is coming from.  Just keep wrapping it around and around the outside of the exact connection point to contain any water from leaking outside the tape.

3. Ensure a Secure Connection – When reattaching the fittings, slowly tighten them by hand first, then give them a firm turn with a wrench (but don’t overtighten, as this may crack the fitting). The goal is to create a snug, watertight seal.

IF ALL ELSE FAILS

We've designed the chiller to work with a submersible setup to ensure you can keep plunging and not be held back by a leak.  In this video, you'll see the proper setup where you can take your water-proof pump and just drop it right into the tub.  This guarantees a flawless setup without any leaking.  And don't worry, all tubing is extremely waterproof and well insulated to ensure there is zero risk associated with this setup.

If you have a V6 series chiller (pump/filter mounted on the outside), this setup is super simple just like the video above.  If you have a V8 chiller (pump/filter built into the chiller), we can send you another pump that will allow you to use this same setup.

Rest assured, you’re in good hands, and we’re committed to making sure everything is resolved swiftly. Please let us know if you need any assistance with these steps.

Thanks again for your patience, and we’ll get this sorted for you as soon as possible!
