Chiller is displaying the wrong temperatureUpdated 2 months ago

Based on what you’ve described, it looks like your chiller just needs a bit of calibration. Sometimes, especially after a reset or when the chiller is brand new, the internal sensor can temporarily show a higher reading than the actual water temperature. The good news is it's almost always just a cosmetic issue and the functional integrity of your chiller shouldn't be affected. We've also seen these cases improve with time in instances where the chiller itself still does function and cool the water. That being said, I'm still here to help you every step of the way.

The "Deep Sync" Fix
1. Hold the power button on your chiller for 5 seconds until it reads "off" and then unplug it.
2. Ensure your chiller is connected to the Polar Dive IOS or Android app.  You can follow this guide to connect your chiller to the app.
3. Using the app, set your target temperature to its lowest setting (into the low 40s or even upper 30s).
4. Let the system run continuously for about 12 hours without opening the lid or changing settings. This allows the chiller to stabilize its internal sensors and ensure the water is circulating at a consistent volume.
5. Ensure that while your chiller runs there are at least 1–2 feet of clear space on all sides.  If heat can't escape the exhaust, it can artificially inflate the internal sensor reading.

What to check after 12 hours:
Once that window has passed, could you please send me a quick update with these three things?
  • The manual reading: What does your hand-held thermometer say the water temp is?
  • The chiller reading: What temperature is the display showing now?
  • Circulation: Does the water flow look steady and strong?
I know it’s a bit of a process to get the physics of the water and the tech in perfect harmony, but I’m here with you to help make sure your Polar Dive experience goes as smoothly as possible.  While time often does help any calibration problems along with connecting to the Polar Dive app, we'll keep working together to keep you up and running!
