Chiller can't connect to appUpdated 2 months ago
To ensure you can properly connect your phone to the PRO Chiller, please make sure you take each of the following steps present in our IOS/Android App connection guide you can find here in the manual:
We always recommend first using the official Polar Dive app found on the IOS or Google Play store. If you're encountering any difficulty connecting our app, creating a new login always helps as well.
Please also ensure the following:
1. Your phone's location services and bluetooth are turned on
2. You click "accept" on all of the popups that appear when you open the app and click to add a new device. If you previously denied any of these popups, please delete the app and reinstall.
3. Your app is properly connected to your WiFi network (done by clicking "Set up WiFi" on the 'add device' screen)
4. Your chiller reads "Off" before pressing and holding the up and down arrows at the same time on your chiller to allow the chiller icon to appear on your app to make the final connection
IF THE ABOVE DOES NOT WORK
We have a backup solution to help connect your phone to your Polar Dive PRO Chiller using the Tuya app. A physical manual explaining this process was also included in your chiller box. Please let us know if you’ve already used or connected through the Tuya app before.
How to connect your PRO Chiller using the Tuya app
- Download the Tuya Smart app from the Apple App Store or Google Play Store
- Create an account and log in
- Tap the “+” icon in the top-right corner
- Connect the app to your Wi-Fi network
- Press and hold the Up (▲) and Down (▼) buttons on the chiller at the same time for 5 seconds
- The chiller should appear in the app tap it to complete the connection
⚠️ Important Wi-Fi Requirement (Very Important)
The chiller only works with 2.4 GHz Wi-Fi. It will not connect to 5 GHz networks.
Most U.S. home routers broadcast both, but phones often auto-connect to 5 GHz by default.
<h2>How to make sure you’re using 2.4 GHz Wi-Fi</h2>
Option 1: Choose the correct Wi-Fi network (most common)
If you see two Wi-Fi names:
- YourNetwork
- YourNetwork-5G
👉 Connect to the one without “5G” before opening the Tuya app.
iPhone (iOS)
- Go to Settings → Wi-Fi
- Select your 2.4 GHz network (no “5G” in the name)
- Stay connected to this network
- Open the Tuya app and pair the chiller
If your router uses only one Wi-Fi name, see Option 3 below.
Android
- Go to Settings → Wi-Fi
- Select your 2.4 GHz network
- Stay connected while pairing in the Tuya app
Some Android phones switch automatically staying close to the router during setup helps.
Option 3: Temporarily disable 5 GHz on your router (most reliable)
If your router uses a single Wi-Fi name:
- Log in to your router settings (commonly 192.168.1.1)
- Open Wireless Settings
- Temporarily turn off 5 GHz
- Complete the Tuya pairing
- Turn 5 GHz back on afterward
Once the chiller is connected, you can switch your phone back to your normal Wi-Fi the chiller will remain paired.
